A person reads every message, usually the same day. Tell us what happened, what you expected, and which phone you were using. A screenshot helps more than anything.

Getting everyone into the same household

One person starts the household and chooses a house code. Everybody else opens ChoreDropper, types that code once, and taps their own name. There are no accounts to create and nothing to sign up for. The code is on the Me page if you have forgotten it.

Notifications are not arriving

On iPhone, notifications only work once ChoreDropper is on your home screen. Open the app in Safari, tap the Share button, tap Add to Home Screen, then open it from the new icon. Go to Me and turn notifications on there.

On Android, open ChoreDropper in Chrome, tap the three dots, tap Add to Home screen, then open it from the icon and turn notifications on under Me.

If they still do not arrive, check your quiet hours on the Me page. Anything that happens during them is held and delivered in one go when they end.

A chore appeared on the wrong day

Routines start from the day you created them. If you set one up in the afternoon with a time that had already passed, it starts the next day instead, so it does not arrive already late. Check the household's time zone on the Me page if dates look out by one.

Who can move a chore around

Whoever set a chore up, whoever last handed it on, and whoever has it now can pass it to someone else with Delegate. Anybody else in the household sees “I'll take it” instead, so you can volunteer yourself but not volunteer other people. Anyone can check off any chore, because whoever did the job should get the credit.

Bins

Set your collection day, which bins go out this week, and which go out the week after. The app then alternates them and shows the right ones. It reminds everybody at the hour you choose, either the day before or on the morning itself.

Meals

Tap any night to set the dinner and who is cooking. Whoever is put down to cook is told, and it appears in their morning reminder. Past dishes are offered as you type, and anything eaten in the last few days is pushed down the list.

Leaving, or starting again

Leave this house on the Me page forgets the household and the person on that phone only. The household carries on and you can return with the code. To have a household deleted from the server entirely, email the address above and say which one.

Something is broken

Please say so. Email the address above with what you were doing when it happened. Faults get fixed and pushed out the same week wherever possible, and there is nothing for you to update: the app is always the current version the moment you open it.

Asking for something new

There is a suggestion box inside the app, on the Me page. Anything you put in it is read, and the things people ask for most are the things that get built next. Your housemates can see your suggestions and add a “me too”, which is the clearest signal there is.
